Emmy Tibbett goes to her twentieth Royal Air Force reunion with an inexplicable sense of foreboding. As a naive nineteen-year-old auxiliary officer serving at Dymfield Air Base during the war, she had fallen in love with handsome pilot 'Beau' Guest. His apparent suicide left her devastated. At the reunion, Emmy discovers she was the last person to see Guest alive, and it becomes apparent that everyone in the tight-knit group at Dymfield has something to hide. Henry Tibbett suspects his wife is on the brink of uncovering a dangerous secret but he can't prevent her from delving into a past that is dark with menace.
